Hi, Baby! Newborn & Family Photography

 WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY IN-STUDIO NEWBORN SESSION?

I recommend booking 3 months in advance. I take a limited amount of due dates per month, so the sooner you book, the better.  We schedule the exact appointment once baby is born. 

Pre-booked clients will always take priority over sessions booked last-minute. Contact me with your due date today! 

*If your newborn has already arrived, it may not be too late! I do accept older newborns with the understanding that baby may be more alert and posing may be limited. 

DOES IT REALLY NEED TO BE WITHIN TWO WEEKS OF BIRTH?

YES. Absolutely. Babies will only curl up naturally for a short period of time before all they want to do is break free and stretch out. Newborns change so much by the day, let alone the week or month. With each week, babies become more alert and not as easily settled for the duration of the session. They also won't fit into the wraps and props the same way a fresh newborn will. Many think, "ahh! My baby sleeps all the time. We've got plenty of time!" But sleeping at home is different than sleeping in a new environment with different sounds, smells, and while being moved to pose and into props. A few weeks can completely change a session from a newborn session to a baby session.  We do have a little bit of wiggle room, I accept babies for newborn sessions up to 4 weeks old.  If baby was premature or in the case of twins, we have more wiggle room as well. 

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

If you have any special accessories or props that you would like to include, I encourage you to bring them! Do you *need* anything? No. I have everything that will be needed. Sometimes moms & dads have special items that they want to include, and I fully support bringing them to make your session your own.  

I'M NOT SURE I WILL WANT TO LEAVE THE HOUSE SO SOON...

I understand how exhausting and overwhelming those first few days can be. I've been there! Getting out for some fresh air can be nature's best medicine though. I will have as much as I can prepared for your arrival, and a plan set in place so that we can get you guys in & out as quickly as possible so you can head home and get back to snuggling.
